Why is cigarette addiction the most picked on habit? Harder drugs like crack cocaine etc. lead to crime etc?

Um… I think people really hate tweekers (meth users) more. Let’s see. By the way, I smoke too, so anyone messes with you, they’re messin with me!

Anyone else that answers, which is worse, cigarettes or meth?

It was difficult for me to quit smoking.
Tried for several years, many times.
Although I have not smoked now for years, I remember the psychological comfort of it.
And it does not bother me at all to sit in the smoking section; sometimes I choose to because I still think I’d enjoy smoking.

But the diminished effects of one addiction as compared to another does not make it more acceptable. Any addiction is to be avoided.

Because you can’t give someone else cancer by doing a line of coke, drinking a gallon of vodka, or shooting up some heroin….

My mom almost died from cancer from smoking…..it’s scary, ugly and dam right stupid. And it happens to plenty of Americans….and not all of them were the one’s lighting up.

Probably because the ‘cigarette smoker’ was socially accepted years ago without the stigma attached that other drugs are. Smokers are more widely seen in public through all walks of life. Not all hard drug users are into crime (I know several). However, I don’t why cigarette smokers are picked on more often. Oh yes, cigarettes do impair judgement, especially after the initial start, and is a crutch just like any other addiction. Any addiction causes detriment to your health if you choose it. I was a cigarette smoker for approx 20 yrs. I only quit about 6 weeks ago (and I hope that I have not done too much damage). Cigarette smoking is mind altering. It makes you think things that are not true. I really believed that smoking was not “cancer causing” for years. I actually still don’t believe that they do, but the “experts” say so. What do I know? All I know now, it is easier to breathe and I feel better overall. I’m also not being “controlled” by anything in my life either. Everything now is my own choice. It’s a good feeling.
